First Century Holy Land Artifact Popularized in U.S.

A Holy Land artifact that dates back to the time of Jesus is expected to draw Christians’ interest in celebrating the roots of their faith.

Dubbed The Jesus Boat, the 27-foot wooden fishing boat was discovered by two brothers in 1986 in the Sea of Galilee after a drought. The vessel, dated to the first century, was preserved and put on display at the Yigal Allon Museum in Israel.

They weigh less than 3 pounds, usually, and are perhaps 15 inches long. But they can remember.

The unborn have memories, according to medical researchers who used sound and vibration stimulation, combined with sonography, to reveal that the human fetus displays short-term memory from at least 30 weeks gestation - or about two months before they are born.

"In addition, results indicated that 34-week-old fetuses are able to store information and retrieve it four weeks later," said the research, which was released Wednesday. Read the rest here:

Following the confiscation of livestock from Christian families earlier this month, officials in a village in Laos on Saturday called a special meeting for all residents and announced that they had "banned the Christian faith in our village."
The chief of Katin village, along with village security, social and religious affairs officials, warned all 53 Christian residents that they should revert to worshiping local spirits in accordance with Lao tradition or risk losing all village rights and privileges—including their livestock and homes, according to advocacy group Human Rights Watch for Lao Religious Freedom (HRWLRF).
The Katin village leader also declared that spirit worship was the only acceptable form of worship in the community, HRWLRF reported. Katin village is in Ta Oih district, Saravan Province.
The previous Sunday, July 5, officials and residents confiscated one pig each from nine Christian families and slaughtered the animals in an effort to force them to renounce their faith. Officials said the seizure of the pigs—each worth the equivalent of six weeks' salary for an average laborer in the area —was punishment for ignoring the order to abandon Christianity. According to HRWLRF, the chief's order clearly contravened Article 6 and Article 30 of the Lao Constitution, which guarantees the right of Christians and other religious minorities to practice the religion of their choice without discrimination or penalty.
In addition, HRWLRF stated that Katin officials had violated Article 53 of the 2003 Law on Local Administration, which requires them to abide by the constitution and other laws and to provide for the safety and well-being of all people living under their care.
Officials in Katin have a history of ignoring constitutional religious freedoms. On July 21, 2008, officials detained 80 Christians in the village after residents seized a Christian identified only as Pew and poured rice wine down his throat, killing him by asphyxiation.
When family members buried Pew and placed a wooden cross on his grave, officials accused them of "practicing the rituals of the enemy of the state" and seized a buffalo and pig from them as a fine.
On July 25, 2008, officials rounded up 17 of the 20 Christian families then living in the village—a total of 80 men, women and children—and detained them in a school compound, denying them food in an effort to force the adults to sign documents renouncing their faith. The other three Christian families in the village at that time had already signed the documents under duress.
As their children grew weaker, 10 families signed the documents and were permitted to return home. The remaining seven families were evicted from the village and settled in an open field nearby, surviving on whatever food sources they could find in the jungle.
Suffering from the loss of their property and livelihoods, however, the seven families eventually recanted their faith and moved back into the village. But over time, some of the Christians began gathering again for prayer and worship.
On Sept. 8, 2008, provincial and district authorities called a meeting in Katin village and asked local officials and residents to respect the religious laws of the nation.
Four days later, however, village officials seized a buffalo worth approximately $350 from a Christian resident identified only as Bounchu, telling him the animal would be returned only if he renounced his faith. When he refused, they slaughtered the animal in the village square and distributed the meat to non-Christian residents.

What do Fawcett, Jackson, & Mays Have in Common....besides death?

I know it sound mean...But I think there is a message for us in this little lyric. After Farah Fawcett passed away and than Michael Jackson...I found myself contemplating this and felt the Lord was trying to show me/us something in this. I immediately had the thought that there would be a third one. Then Billy Mays died. and that is when the little lyric popped into my head. Here in America we idolize Beauty, Fame and Money or what money can buy. I feel like God is warning us of a monumental changes coming to the USA. Our idols will be cast off. And we will again Cry out to the ONE TRUE GOD. I know I will get all the hate mail saying...."so your saying God killed them so they could be some kind of example?"...NO NO NO. God did not kill them. They, through their lifestyle and choices died. They were either not good to their bodies or they died from common things that consume many of us anal cancer, drugs, and heart disease. But God is using the timing as a message for us. I am in no way making any judgements against them...that is God's job. But I think it is safe to say that their lives were not exactly "righteous" Also the good they did in their lives should be remembered. But, they definitely were held in America as a types of idols. Often more loved than God himself by many. Here are a few scriptures to support my thinking. BTW it is ironic that there are punk rock bands named Idols Are Dead & Kill Your Idols

Isaiah 2:17

^17-18Human pride will be ended, and human arrogance will be destroyed. Idols will completely disappear, and the Lord alone will be exalted on that day.

¹⁰ ⁾They will hide in caves in the rocky hills or dig holes in the ground to try to escape from the Lord's anger and to hide from his power and glory!¹¹ A day is coming when human pride will be ended and human arrogance destroyed. Pharmakeia is a Greek word that appears several times in the New Testament, including the Epistle to the Galatians and the Book of Revelation. It is frequently translated as "witchcraft" or "sorcery." The English word "pharmaceutical" is derived from the same root as this word. The admonitions against it in the Bible are often used as the basis of claims that mind-altering drug use is sinful, as the ancient pagans used hallucinogens in their sorcery.

Further, and earlier schools of thought have understood the warning against Pharmakeia to be a ban on oral contraceptives that were in use at the time.

Mother Teresa herself asked me to create this special drawing of a little child carved in the Palm of God’s Hand. She wanted me to include this beautiful passage from the Old Testament in which God says to each one of us, through the Prophet Isaiah: See! I will not forget you. I have carved you on the palm of My hand. I have called you by your name. You are mine. You are precious to Me. I love you. Isaiah 49:16

Mother Teresa wrote on each of the fingers of God’s Hand: "You did it to Me" to remind us of the Words that Jesus said – "Whatsoever you do to the least of my brethren, that you do unto Me."

I created this image for Mother Teresa in 1986, while I was with her in Calcutta, India.

Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament

I drew this image for Mother Teresa in 1996. It is a drawing of Our Blessed Mother Mary holding the Sacred Host within her Immaculate Heart. Within the Host appears Her Divine Child, Jesus. The whole idea for this drawing (and the caption underneath it) came from a book titled: The Virgin Mary in the Writings of Maria Valtorta, by Fr. Gabriel M. Roschini, O.S.M. That book relates that Our Lady appeared to Maria, an Italian mystic, and said: I would like someone to draw a picture of Me as I appear to you now. My Immaculate Heart should shine with heavenly light and contain the Most Blessed Host, in which the Divine Child is to be pictured. Underneath, put the inscription: ‘From Mary’s Virginal Blood and Heart, the Supreme Love-Gift: Jesus-the-Eucharist.’ (Our Lady spoke this to Maria Valtorta on June 4^th, 1953, on the Feast of Corpus Christi).

Mother Teresa wrote to me just weeks before she died and assured me: I did receive your picture It is still hanging on my wall.

USA BABYLON, FORGIVE before its too late.

Below is a Prophetic word for America and following that is a Prayer on Forgiveness. Each article is linked to the original web site if you would like to further investigate them. After that you find a few passages of Scripture that deal with Jesus coming, the Wrath of God and Babylon.
Mourning the Fall of Babylon?

The Lord kept me up most of the night, bringing a word for me to share now. Many times I wait until I have prayed over what I hear in my spirit, but I can't wait to send this word out.
Last night, while praying before I went to bed, the Lord gave me a vision that really rattled me.   In the vision, I saw this land split into four parts, with each one under its own flag.   Each region had terrible destruction and many people were dead.  As I looked over the destruction, I was crying and the Lord asked me, "Why are you crying over the fall of Babylon? As a matter of fact, why have you been praying for the healing of Babylon?"  In this vision, I didn't have an answer and the Lord opened a scroll and started reading the indictments against our country, but before each one He clearly called the USA "Babylon."
The list was long and to the point, with such points as the killing of the several generations of unborn children.  Beside this charge, He added that these babies had been sacrificed to the god of self.  The list also included greed, idolatry, pride, fornication and many others -- so many I could not even read them all.  As I looked at the list of charges, I was overwhelmed and broken by the fact that we live every day in a nation that is so far removed from God and in total opposition to the Kingdom of God, yet we are comfortable here. We have become just like Lot living in Sodom -- the prosperity that the nation offers us has blinded us from the evil that rules this land. We complain about how bad it is but still stay attached to it with every ounce of strength we have.
The Lord told me to look at the nation as He sees it, not through my eyes but through His. I could not look too long before I had to agree and repent of loving Babylon. Once I repented, the Lord told me to prepare for the fall, as time is running out. I must preach the Gospel of the Kingdom, not the Gospel of America. America is already judged; the time of shaking is now and will increase rapidly this summer. Water shortages and food shortages will become common this summer, as well as fuel shortages. Civil unrest will become commonplace in large cities first but will spill over into the rural areas, as well.
Natural disasters will stretch the resources of the nation to the breaking point and the government will use this to take freedom away. Brothers up north take note: you will see this start to happen quickly. Please seek the Lord for direction, as you are out of time. The west coast will see this soon, as well; please prepare.
In this vision there was a great wasteland that appeared to be in the center of the nation, where everything was wiped out; I saw masses of people wandering without direction. They were dirty and ragged, almost dead, and there was no relief in sight. Most of you guys reading this think I'm crazy, I'm sure; but I must be faithful to share what I'm given to share.
The Lord told me to cry from the mountain tops to repent and seek the Lord now! We don't have any more time to seek after the things of this world.  He has also given me teaching to prepare people to pass through this time of shaking into the Kingdom and I must be faithful to preach this word anywhere I have an open door. If you want to hear this word, please contact me to set up times and places, but, again, I must warn you, we are running out of time. We must stop living like we have all the time in the world. We must stop crying over the fall of Babylon and press into the Kingdom.

Forgiveness Prayer

for the times death has come into the family, hard times, financial difficulties, or what I thought were punishments sent by You and people said, "It's God's will," and I become bitter and resentful toward You. Purify my heart and mind today.
Lord, I forgive MYSELF
for my sins, faults and failings, for all that is bad in myself or that I think is bad, I forgive myself; and I accept Your forgiveness.
I further forgive MYSELF
for taking Your name in vain, not worshipping You by attending church, for hurting my parents, getting drunk, for sins against purity, bad books, bad movies, fornication, adultery, homosexuality. Also, for abortion, stealing, lying, defrauding, hurting peoples' reputation. You have forgiven me today, and I forgive myself. Thank You, Lord, for your grace at this moment.

for any delvings in superstition, using ouija boards, horoscopes, going to séances, using fortune telling or wearing lucky charms. I reject all that superstition and choose You alone as my Lord and Savior. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit.
Lord, I truly forgive my MOTHER.
I forgive her for all the times she hurt me, she resented me, she was angry with me and for all the times she punished me. I forgive her for the times she preferred my brothers and sisters to me. I forgive her for the times she told me I was dumb, ugly, stupid, the worst of the children or that I cost the family a lot of money. For the times she told me I was unwanted, an accident, a mistake or not what she expected, I forgive her.
Lord, I truly forgive my FATHER.
I forgive him for any non-support, any lack of love, affection or attention. I forgive him for any lack of time, for not giving me his companionship, for his drinking, arguing and fighting with my mother or the other children. For his severe punishments, for desertion, for being away from home, for divorcing my mother or for any running around, I do forgive him.
Lord, I extend forgiveness to my SISTERS AND BROTHERS.
I forgive those who rejected me, lied about me, hated me, resented me, competed for my parents' love, those who hurt me, who physically harmed me. For those who were too severe on me, punished me or made my life unpleasant in any way, I do forgive them.
Lord, I forgive my SPOUSE
for lack of love, affection, consideration, support, attention, communication; for faults, failings, weaknesses and those other acts or words that hurt or disturb me.
Jesus, I forgive my CHILDREN
for their lack of respect, obedience, love, attention, support, warmth, understanding; for their bad habits, falling away from the church, any bad actions which disturb me.

Lord Jesus, I especially pray for the grace of forgiveness for the ONE PERSON in life who has HURT ME THE MOST.
I ask to forgive anyone who I consider my greatest enemy, the one who is the hardest to forgive or the one who I said I will never forgive.
Lord, I beg pardon of all these people for the hurt I have inflicted on them, especially my mother and father, and my marriage partner. I am especially sorry for the three greatest hurts I have inflicted on each of these.
Thank You, Jesus, that I am being freed of the evil of unforgiveness. Let Your Holy Spirit fill me with light and let every dark area of my mind be enlightened. AMEN.
Tips on Forgiveness
1. Forgiveness is an act of the will, not a feeling.
2. If we pray for a person, we can be assured that we have forgiven that person.
3. To help accept an individual and open ourselves to a particular person more, picture him with the Lord Jesus and say to the Lord, "I love him because You love him. I forgive him because You forgive him."
4. Forgiveness is a life-long obligation.
5. Daily we need to forgive those who hurt or injure us.

God's Wrath Against Mankind
¹⁸The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, ¹⁹since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. ²⁰For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
²¹For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. ²²Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools ²³and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.

Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. ²⁷In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.
²⁸Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. ²⁹They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, ³⁰slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; ³¹they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. ³²Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

The Woman and the Beast
¹One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, "Come, I will show you the punishment of the great prostitute, who sits on many waters. ²With her the kings of the earth committed adultery and the inhabitants of the earth were intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries."
³Then the angel carried me away in the Spirit into a desert. There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns. ⁴The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. Roman Catholics are the Original Christians

Roman Catholics are the Original Christians. The name Catholic was widely used in the first and second centuries to differentiate itself from Heretical sects, Catholic means Universal. and many of the Beliefs and teachings were not objected to until the 1500's Even those who disagreed still held fast to many of the teachings and traditions.

This directly corresponds to JOHN 6:66 Where many of Jesus followers turned away from Christ and no longer followed Him because they could not accept His Teaching that His Body was TRUE food and His Blood TRUE drink.

In actuality the Bible you USE was originally painstakingly transcribed by Catholic Monks. Of course Protestants threw out 7(number of completion) books. That left them with 66 books. the number of man and the number of Incomplete or to fall short of God. The Catholic Bible still has all 73 books the number 7 for complete and 3 for God.

Martin Luther himself said "We are obliged to yield many things to the Papists (Catholics) That they posses the Word of God which we received from them, otherwise we should have known nothing at all about it."

St Augustine " I would put no faith in the Gospels unless the authority of the Catholic Church directed me to do so."

Protestants follow the Hebrew Canon which has 39 books. It was established by Jewish rabbis at Jamnia in Palestine about 100A.D. perhaps as a reaction to the Christian Church which used the Septuagint of 46 books from the Alexandrian Canon. This is the translation that Jesus Quoted from and is quoted from 300 times in the NT. This was the popular because the Region of the Mediterranean was Greek speaking not Hebrew the dying language.

The Jews of Jamnia rejected 7 books Wisdom, Sirach, Judith, Baruch, Tobit, and 1 & 2 Maccabees as well as portions of Daniel and Esther.

For 16 centuries the Alexandrian Canon was a matter of uncontested faith. In 1529 martin Luther proposed the Palestinian canon of 39 books hence came the removal of the 7 books listed above. If you Use the catholic Bible than you follow along with Jesus and the Early Church for The Alexandrian Canon of the OT is what Jesus quoted from. IF you Follow the PROTESTant bible than you follow what the non-christian Jews followed.

It is Ironic that Catholic means all encompassing and Universal and Protestant means Division and to protest. Not to mention Scripture says not to add or take away one word Yet Martin Luther purposely took away 7 books and then added the Word "ALONE" to Romans 3:28 which directly led to the "Sola Scriptura" or "Scripture Alone" heretical theology. For Scripture itself contradicts this when it says that we are to Hold Fast to the (oral) traditions handed down to us 1 Cor 11:2, 1 Pet 1: 25, 2 Thes 2:15, 3:6.

Another fact that is impossible to deny is that there are over 25,000 denominations in Protestantism and only One Roman Catholic church. Did you know I could go anywhere in the world go to mass and The very same scriptures for that day would be read no matter where I am at. That is UNITY. Also We do as the Lords Prayer says Give us our Daily Bread...Mass is said EVERYDAY and THE EUCHARIST is given EVERYDAY!!!
If you are Protestant....I point these contraditions of our Faith out because I love my Church. I am happily maried to a Baptist so we have Very lively debates. It has honed us and we are both stronger Christians as a result. Please, don't be angry but do respond. Share your viewpoint. We can debate and share. I was conceived when eight men raped my mother as she walked home after watching The Ten Commandments. I found her after 48 years of both of us praying to meet. Her mother wanted her to have an abortion but she said it wasn't the baby's fault so she gave me up for adoption. She never forgot me and was thrilled to meet me in 2005.

I wrote her a song called "God is Faithful" and now it has turned into a full CD. I travel the world letting people see the face of the "conceived in rape" so that we will be given a chance to live and make a difference in the world.

My mom is a hero and other women who choose to give life will be too.

Memories of an Unwanted Child
'Mommy, why don't I know my Daddy? Where's Daddy? Will he ever come and live with us? Can I see his picture?'

I was only 15 years old when I found out the terrible truth about my father: he never supported us and disappeared from our lives as soon as he found out my mother was nurturing a little life in her womb. But no, wait: he did something else before he left. He tried to convince my mother to have an abortion.

I wish I had the ability to describe the emotions that overthrew me when Mother told me about it. Anger. Bitterness. Feeling of insecurity, feeling unwanted. And all the while, a deep and sincere gratitude to my mother, admiration of her brave heart. She chose to give me life! Yes, despite all, she didn't want to give up on her tiny baby. She didn't give in to evil manipulations.

This continued to haunt me for years to come. Why didn't he want me? Did he hate me so much that he wanted me dead and gone, before I even had a chance to breathe fresh air? Was I so meaningless to him that he never bothered to find out if I'm alive or dead? It was then that my most rebellious period as a teenager started (no, I'm not justifying it, just telling my story). A girl who knows her father didn't feel obliged to protect her! The very thought is pure torture.

It took a great deal of growing, trials, pain, praying and seeking God to finally let go of the bitterness and forgive my father. Sometimes I still wonder what he would think if he saw me as the woman I am today: happily married, and expecting a baby girl in several months? Would he feel sorry for what he missed? Would he regret for being so selfish and short-sighted back then?

Does he ever think about what could have been? Walks hand in hand, his sweet baby daughter cuddling in his arms; talk and play and laughter; watching his little daughter blossom into a woman, protecting her. A glorious vision of the day when he gives her away in marriage, in God's perfect timing, to the right man.

Another thing I had to work through was the inferiority complex of an 'unwanted' child. I mean, I couldn't be worth much if my father rejected me, right? But I kept reminding myself, until it became ingrained in my head, that I was a loved child, a planned child, a wanted child – a child of God, a child like all the other children, and maybe even walking closer to Him, as I had no earthly father to watch over me in my years as an unmarried woman.

I could have never made it to see Earth.
When my mother was pregnant with me the doctors told her that I was going to be born with down syndrome and it would be wise to abort me. My mother thought it over many times. My father had been telling her to abort me, that they could not support a child with a mental illness. This caused quite a few arguments.

Months had passed and it came down to crunch time. My mother felt that there was no need to abort me, that I was part of her and I needed to live. I lived to see planet earth and I was a perfect healthy baby.

Doctors are not GOD!
When I was pregnant with my daughter, I was told during an ultrasound that something was wrong with the size of her brain. The doctors showed me right on the screen what was abnormal. There was swelling in the outer part of her brain.

They ran some tests and my blood work came back saying that my baby had Down-syndrome. With all the technology nowadays, I did not doubt what they said at all. I saw with my own eyes on the screen that something wasn't right.

In further testing, they also found a problem with one of the valves in her heart, which they said was common with children with Downs. Again, I did not doubt a word they said. I saw the irregular size and irregular opening and closing of the valve with my own eyes on the screen.

They sat me down and ran through the drill of options for me to terminate the pregnancy. It had never crossed my mind. I knew full well that it would be very hard to raise a child with a disability. I have another child with Autism/ADHD/Tourette Syndrome. It was not new territory for me. I had an idea of what I was going into and that I would be relying heavily on God to get me through each day.

I spent a lot of time in prayer, but accepted what I had been given. But when my daughter was born, the big 9lb5oz TANK that she was- I was shocked to tears to find that her face was not distorted as I expected. Though she did have a heart condition, she looked like any other chunky baby! The doctors did not have an answer as to why she did not have Downs.

Through extensive tests and lots of prayer her heart condition seemed to improve. By the time she was 7 months there was no sign that anything had ever been wrong with her. Even though I never considered aborting her, it makes me think of how many other women WOULD HAVE chose abortion in my position and what they would have missed out on. Through His Eyes
I became pro-life when I found out that many pro-abortion advocates use disability to justify abortion. I have been mildly autistic since birth and have been losing my hearing since age 18. People have told me that abortion is necessary for disabled children because it saves them from "a lifetime of abuse and rejection." Murder is NEVER the answer to abuse or rejection! Killing disabled children in the womb should have the same legal consequences as killing them outside the womb. I didn't (and don't) need a mercy killing! I'm in school and living life to the full! Living with autism and hearing loss has taught me to see myself through His eyes!

A Mistake I Never Made
I was 16, my boyfriend and I broke up 3 weeks earlier. I was happy with my life, I felt better without him.

I started getting sick the day my school's spring break started. I thought nothing of it, just the flu. One of those days my mom and I where talking and then all of the sudden I ran to the bathroom to throw up. As I was throwing up my mom asked, "Bre, did you start your period yet?" I said, not really thinking it was the end of March, said, "Yeah February 1st." My mom replied, "What?" My quick reply after that was, "Mom, it's fine!"

I tried to forget about it. Weeks went by. I started gagging on my tooth brush, throwing up more and more and not being able to eat at all. Then, the day before Easter my sister and I where out shopping for gifts. I snuck in a pregnancy test in my stuff. We got home and I took the test. Two not so faint pink lines appeared. I cried.

My Mom found out soon by word of mouth. She insisted I have an abortion. This was never an option.

Then came time to tell the father's mom. She was crying and saying she wishes I would get an abortion. I said I would not. The next day she sent me e-mails about pro-choice Christians. Not for me, I replied.

My mom was angry for a while, but then she started talking to me again - slowly. She would not talk about the baby. When I was eight months pregnant she and I got into a fight. I finally blew up at her, telling her that it was unfair that she would not talk about the little girl I had growing inside of me. She then realized how much it hurt me and started asking questions about how I felt. We talked about names too.

The day Morgan, my daughter, was born was the greatest day of my life. She brightens my world everyday and just looking at her face makes me want to try harder and harder for her. What made it even better was that my mom was in the room with me, holding my leg, helping me push and watching my daughter come into the world.

My daughter was born on October 31, 2007 Weighing 8 pounds 4 ounces and 22 1/2 inches long.

My life would mean nothing to me without my daughter and I thank my mom for helping me get there.

Beautiful Love.
On November 10, 2006 I had my first child. With her father by my side I delivered a healthy 6lb. 7oz. baby girl. The first words out of her fathers mouth were, "I can't believe we almost let her go."...

My daughters father, Luke, and I had been together since my freshman year and his sophomore year, for about 2 years when we found out we were expecting. We didn't know what we were going to do. He was a Senior getting ready to go off to college and I was a Junior, who was going to be left at home with our baby and no money or support. We talked through our options and decided to get an abortion. Neither of us really wanted one, but we felt we had no other choice.

The day of our appointment, I asked him to just drop me off. I felt that if he was with me, I would never be able to walk into that room and and go through with it. I went as far as signing in and waiting in the waiting room. I sat there for 3 hours. Luke and I had agreed that he would pick me up at 4:30, and when he pulled up he thought I had gone through with it because of the tear stains on my face and he started crying. It was then that I took his hand and put it on my belly, and together we felt our baby kick for the first time.

Sitting in that office, waiting to kill my child, was the worst and best day of my life. Worst in the sense that I was even considering doing such a terrible thing to my unborn child, and best in the sense that I opened my eyes and realized what a blessing God had given me.

Two weeks after that day, we set our parents down and told them about their grandbaby and our plans. My parents supported us, his did not. My parent agreed to let us live with them until the baby was one year old, enough time to save up as much money as possible. They will never know how much their support meant and still means to us...

So now, we have a beautiful 5 month old daughter. We named her Isabella Carys. Isabella means "beautiful" in Italian and Carys means "love" in Welsh. She was created out of a beautiful love and continues to give us beautiful love everyday. I will be graduating next month and Luke works full time to support us. This isin't the life I had imagined for myself, but I did always imagine a life full of love and that I have. I woke up a few Saturdays ago with the word Lapanto on my mind. I was not familiar with the word but it kept coming to my mind. On October 7, 1571, a great victory over the mighty Turkish fleet was won by Catholic naval forces primarily from Spain, Venice, and Genoa under the command of Don Juan of Austria. It was the last battle at sea between "oared" ships, which featured the most powerful navy in the world, a Moslem force with between 12,000 to 15,000 Christian slaves as rowers. The patchwork team of Catholic ships was powered by the Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Knowing that the Christian forces were at a distinct material disadvantage, the holy pontiff, St. Pope Pius V called for all of Europe to pray the Rosary for victory. We know today that the victory was decisive, prevented the Islamic invasion of Europe, and evidenced the Hand of God working through Our Lady. At the hour of victory, St. Pope Pius V, who was hundreds of miles away at the Vatican, is said to have gotten up from a meeting, went over to a window, and exclaimed with supernatural radiance: "The Christian fleet is victorious!" and shed tears of thanksgiving to God.

What you may not know is that one of three admirals commanding the Catholic forces at Lepanto was Andrea Doria. He carried a small copy of Mexico's Our Lady of Guadalupe into battle. This image is now enshrined in the Church of San Stefano in Aveto, Italy. Not many know that at the Monastery of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Spain, one can view a huge warship lantern that was captured from the Moslems in the Battle of Lepanto. In Rome, look up to the ceiling of S. Maria in Aracoeli and behold decorations in gold taken from the Turkish galleys. In the Doges' Palace in Venice, Italy, one can witness a giant Islamic flag that is now a trophy from a vanquished Turkish ship from the Victory. At Saint Mary Major Basilica in Rome, close to the tomb of the great St. Pope Pius V, one was once able to view yet another Islamic flag from the Battle, until 1965, when it was returned to Istanbul in an intended friendly token of concord.
